What does 100% compostable mean?
100% compostable means that the material is able beeing naturally docomposed outside via physical degratation and micro organisms. None of any residues are left over. To ensure this, laboratory testing is performed, including an earthworm toxicity test.
Why should items be officially varified of beeing compostable?
In order to comply with the laws of good order against greenwashing and since it is not allowed to refer to compostable packaging with other seals, the verification process includes the issuance of an official certificate and the awarding of the Warranty Mark of approval. By certifying your packaging, you show your commitment to sustainability and gain the trust of your customers.
How does the verification process work??
You have to send us three samples of each item, indended to be verfied beeing 100% compostable. The verification process includes a following comprehensive check-up and analysis, incl. various tests in accordance to the Warranty Mark guidelines and evenutal release of the authorization to use the Label officially.
Costs of Certification?
We understand that verifying your precious products should be cost–effective. So we do only charge a one time verification fee per product of USD 974,30 plus legal laboratory fees.
What is the aim of the verification?
The verification process aims to comply with the law and order.
